is a composition that explores the rhythmic potential of
cellular automata which are fed by movement data of a non-seeing person that moves in an acoustic space.
Social Radar is an interactive multi-participant environment that
sonifies personal distance of participants referring to distancing and interaction behaviour.
mi manca tanto - part II is a visual sound design project that I have done in winter 2005/2006
here at Graz. The pictures and movie clips are all taken with my quite aged digital camera, sound was recorded or synthesized.

Evolving Oblique is a project from Joanna's PhD research
at the University of Cambridge, UK. We met at IAMAS, Japan and teamed up to realise this work. Evolving Oblique is an
approach to interactive media-enhanced architecture and was presented at different exhibitions and conferences over the
last years. In 2004 it was awarded as best piece in its category at the acm MultiMedia 2004, New York.
flash_flag/pink_noise flash_flag is a project from the Italian artist Philipp Messner. He asked me
if I would like to do the sound for this film/video-project .... well, I thought that was a nice idea. :)

A collection of photos : this is my official collection of photos -
the main criterium was to put together an interesting, small (at that time my iDisk only had 100 MB)
and diversified collection.

The Bilderbuch-series are small collections of pictures. This initially started when I put some pictures online for my family, friends and
relatives during the time I was in Japan. I called that collection Bilderbuch JAPAN. I thought that was a nice idea so I decided to
put small collections online.

Bilderbuch MÜNCHEN : some impressions of the
'secret capital' of Germany :) (actually, this was a remark from the candidate of the conservative party for the mayor's office at Berlin - in the German
capital during the election campaign he stated that Munich was the secret capital of Germany anyways. Quite funny. No need to
mention that he never was elected ....)
Bilderbuch AUSTRIA : some impressions of the last years.
Bilderbuch Ruine Homburg : This one is taken with a
mobile phone camera - the quality is not that great but the atmosphere is rather intriguing.
Projects I took part in:
GRAZ MOCKBA GRAZ a concert which took place at Graz and at Moscow. Audio and video were streamed between the two
locations.
Klangdusche [sound shower] was part of an installation in public space in the spa "Bad zu Sonne"
at Graz. Together with
a few other sound designers and artists, we did this installation. Our contribution consisted of the sound shower and
an acoustic atmosphere mirror that transmitted the sound
from inside the spa to the pavement in front of the spa.
μPhonie was a little workshop in the spirit of Stockhausen's Mikrophonie or the works of Mesias Maiguashca. Done in
the IEMCube with Pd live performance.

I am an international interaction designer, media designer and media artist. My approach to media is strictly multi-modal -
movement, sound and visuals (or: sight, sound and motion - the title of a famous book by Herbert Zettl, SFSU). I studied and lived in different countries in Europe and in
Japan and am always eager to bring these influences and inspirations into my projects to produce something new and unique.
